Most of the cars driven in F&F in reality would have a 5-speed(manual transmission) . There is a Mitsubishi Eclipse, Toyota Supra, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline, Honda S2000, Honda Civic Dx coupes, VW Jetta. That's all I can remember from the first one.

Ford . Is it too risky to buy a '97-'02 Honda or Toyota if it has more than 100k miles?

Is it too risky to buy a '97-'02 Honda or Toyota if it has more than 100k miles? I'm looking for my first car. And I've been told by several people that a Honda Civic or a Honda Accord or something of the like would be a good bet. I've also been told (by some pretty old school people) that you shouldn't buy any car with over 100k miles. But, I've also heard that Hondas and Toyotas will run forever if you take care of them (regular maintenance and whatnot.) So my question is, is it unwise to buy something of that nature (a '97-'02ish Honda or Toyota) if it has over 100k on it? Thanks. car insurance.

Ford . How to replace a leaking tire valve stem core on your car, truck, bike or ATV

Got a slow leak in your tire and can't figure out where? It is likely a worn core in your tire's valve stem. Replacing it is easy, fast and best of all, CHEAP! The local garage will likely hit you for their hourly shop charge if they do it. Your cost to do it yourself: about 3 minutes and $1.49!
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Replacement valve cores
A valve stem tool (both items are readily available at your local farm or auto parts store)

Step by Step :
1This is the full assembly in exploded view (uninstalled in the tire). The valve core tool is also pictured.
Determine if the valve stem is leaking by using your finger to rub a mixture of dish soap and water over the uncapped valve stem. Form a film over the opening, and watch to see if it forms a growing bubble. If it does it is leaking and needs to be replaced! If it is not leaking but the tire still loses air, see my article on repairing punctured tires!
2The valve core tool. The thin slotted end that you need is the one facing to the left in the picture.
Deflate the tire, and use the thin slotted end of the valve core tool to unscrew the valve core (counterclockwise) and remove it from the stem. Discard the leaking core.
3
Use the same end of the valve core tool to install the new valve stem core. Re-inflate the tire to the appropriate level (written on the side wall of the tire), and put the cap back on the valve stem to keep out dirt and moisture.
Tips & Warnings
Don't overtighten the valve stem core when installing the new one!

Be sure to deflate the tire prior to removing the old valve core. If the tire is pressurized, the core will fly out at you when you remove it!

Ford . About Light Truck Wheels

Light truck wheels are wheels designed for pickup trucks rated at one ton or less, and a variety of types and styles are available. Wheels may be made from several materials, but all light truck wheels are made from some form of metal. Light truck wheels come in different sizes and load ratings, depending on the application they are intended for. Light truck wheels can be, and have been, installed on large-frame passenger vehicles, but their usefulness is questionable.
Function
The function of a light truck wheel is to attach the tire to the vehicle hub. Tires are usually mounted on a light truck wheel with a specialized machine in a tire shop. Light truck wheels are typically "tubeless" and have a valve stem mounted directly in the wheel. The tire is seated in the wheel solidly by forcing it past an area called the "bead." This keeps the tire securely mounted in the wheel so long as the tire has adequate pressure. Light truck wheels can have anywhere from four to eight lug nuts that attach the wheel to the hub of the truck. Some of the largest light truck wheels have ten lugs, but the trucks for which these wheels are used can hardly be considered "light."
Size
Light truck wheels vary in diameter from around 14" to 16", but some are even larger. Larger wheel diameters are usually restricted to decorative wheels, such as aluminum mags, and wheels designed for low profile tires with a tire height--from the wheel rim to the road surface--of two inches or less. Size is usually a good indicator of the type of truck the wheel will fit. Four-lug wheels usually fit smaller import trucks, whereas eight to ten-lug wheels are used exclusively in full-size and one-ton trucks.
Types
Light truck wheels can be made from aluminum, stainless steel, painted steel, or chrome-plated steel. They come in many different load ratings, although most are adequately rated for light truck use if they are marketed for that purpose. Wheels may be decorative, oversized, or undersized in the interest of style. Some of the largest light trucks--in particular, the one-ton trucks--have a special wheel design with an offset hub surface that allows wheels to be dual-mounted on the rear axle. This increases the load capacity and effective traction of the tires, because they function as pairs.
Identification
Some light truck wheels are designated "LT" on the wheel. Many are not. When unmarked, light truck wheels can be identified by measuring the bolt pattern or counting the lugs. A six-lug or eight-lug wheel will almost certainly be a light truck wheel, whereas a four- or five-lug wheel may be for a light truck or a passenger car. Identification can be critical because some passenger car wheels match the bolt pattern of some light trucks, and passenger car wheels have a lower load rating.
Warning
Pay careful attention to load ratings on replacement light truck wheels. While some light truck wheels can be used on passenger cars safely, the inverse is not true. Passenger car wheels have a much lower load rating and shear resistance. Despite the fact they may physically fit on the truck, these wheels can fail under a large load, which can be quite dangerous. While not in common use now, wheels of the "split-rim" design still exist. Many tire shops will no longer service this type of wheel, and existing wheels of this type should be replaced with more modern one-piece designs.

Chapter 5: The Electrical System: Your Car's Spark of Life 1Q2 The condenser The condenser (shown in Figure 5-17) is an electrical "sponge" that keeps the points from burning up. This small metal cylinder prevents the electricity from arcing across the gap when the points are open, which would cause the points to burn. Condensers should be replaced periodically, along with the points and rotor. Chapter 12 shows you how to do so. Figure 5-17: A condenser. Other parts found only on electronic distributors Electronic distributors employ electronic parts. The good news is that they tend to be relatively trouble-free. The bad news is that if they break down, you have to pay a professional to replace them. They include the following parts: An ignition module is a transistorized component that triggers the ignition coil to fire high voltage. The module is a "non-wear" component that replaced the old-style "breaker" points in the early to mid-1970s. It is usually found in or around the distributor. 284 Car Insurance 1996 nissan sentra 308412

A triggering mechanism inside the distributor — or on the crankshaft — controls the timing of the ignition module. On some vehicles, this is a magnetic pulse generator called a pick-up coil. Other vehicles use a Hall-Effect switch or a photoelectric sensor inside the distributor to trigger the module. It probably doesn't make much difference which type your vehicle has, because there's no need for you to develop a personal relationship with it. Part II: What Makes It Go?. Other parts found only on distributorless ignition systems Distributorless ignition systems also use a solid-state ignition module, along with the following additional electronic parts (refer to Figure 5-10): t* A crankshaft sensor is a trigger device that tells the ignition module when to fire the spark plugs. V A camshaft sensor, found on some distributorless ignition systems, is a trigger device that synchronizes when the proper ignition coil should be fired. Other Electrical Gadgets The alternator also supplies the electrical current for the sound system, headlights, taillights, directional signals, defroster, heater, air conditioner, and other electrical gadgets via electrical wiring under the dashboard.

Ford . How do you fix a code po113 iat sensor?

Plymouth Neon.

Although most of these components require professional repair, the following parts are pretty easy to deal with yourself: * Fuses control the flow of current to electrical components the same way they do in the home. They are located in a fuse box that is usually found under or near the dashboard. Your owner's manual should show you where the fuse box on your vehicle is, or you can crawl under the dashboard and trace the wires from your sound system until you reach the fuse box. See Chapter 12 for instructions on checking fuses and replacing a burnt-out fuse. Windshield wipers need to be checked and replaced periodically. Chapter 3 provides tips on checking and replacing your windshield wipers.and windshield washer fluid. * Directional signal flashers on your dashboard do more than tell you whether the directional signals are flashing. They also are designed to provide clues to malfunctions elsewhere on your car! Chapter 20 tells you how to decipher these clues and rectify the problems that they indicate.
